TRÜF Designs Geometric Identity for LA Builder Reliance

TRÜF, a design studio located in Los Angeles, has developed a complete brand identity along with architectural materials for Reliance Design + Build, a builder of custom homes. Central to the identity is an abstract lowercase 'r' formed from bold black beams and a circle that represents the rising sun. The selected color scheme—deep forest green, crisp cream, and dark charcoal—aims to steer clear of commercial clichés, with green symbolizing organic growth and the cream and charcoal providing a striking contrast for architectural photography. A rigid grid system organizes layouts for both digital and print formats, while grotesque letterforms define the typography. Decorative patterns derived from the geometric mark appear on the custom website and editorial layouts. Physical materials include textured business cards, branded hard-hat designs, and large site signage, all crafted with matte finishes and heavy paper stocks to reflect the tactile essence of home construction. This design maintains uniformity across print and on-site elements, anchoring the digital identity in a structural context. The project has been featured on Abduzeedo, a design blog.
