Tristan Eaton Merges Fine Art and Commerce in Hong Kong Solo Show

Los Angeles-based artist Tristan Eaton, known for his street art, design work, and the pseudonymous TrustoCorp project, is transitioning to focus on his fine art practice. After a twenty-year career spanning graffiti, toy design (co-creating Kid Robot's Dunny), advertising for Nike and Disney, and running Thunderdog Studios, Eaton relocated to L.A. in 2012 and scaled back commissions. His first solo show in years, "Changing the Subject," opened at Above Second Gallery in Hong Kong, featuring hand-painted collages that blend figurative, graphic, and satirical elements from his earlier personas. Eaton, who started as a teenage graffiti artist in Detroit and debuted at ©POP Gallery at 18, now aims to live off his fine art. He recently painted a high-profile mural in Paris and plans a major solo show at Library Street Collective in Detroit, along with a monograph spanning his career. Eaton reflects that his new work feels most authentic, combining aspects of his personal style and TrustoCorp's public commentary without the constraints of commercial clients.
