Transgender musician Dylan Holloway duets with his pre-transition self in viral videos

Dylan Holloway, a musician and previous X Factor finalist now known as Dylan and the Moon, has unveiled duet videos that juxtapose his pre-transition work with his current identity. Among these is a popular rendition of Coldplay's "Yellow," which highlights the theme of self-acceptance. Originally from Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Holloway contemplated discarding his earlier recordings but was persuaded by his mother to retain them, fostering a positive reflection on his past. He seeks to honor his entire self, pushing back against the expectation within the transgender community to disavow former identities. Transitioning in 2020 and starting hormone therapy in 2021, Holloway is also a mental health advocate and the inaugural transgender winner of BBC's Project Icon.
