TRAGA's Melt Glass Adds Pink and Burnt Yellow to Its Distorted Borosilicate Tumbler
Milan-based brand TRAGA has introduced two new tonalities for its Melt Glass, a 300 ml borosilicate vessel whose outward-rounded base bends the appearance of its contents so the drink seems to seep into the tabletop. Pink softens the silhouette with a more playful character, while Burnt Yellow reads warmer and more graphic; the original version was transparent. Federico Fontanella designed the piece, drawing the base curvature from forms in TRAGA's own logo and converting a two-dimensional graphic mark into a functional three-dimensional detail. The object sits between an ordinary tumbler and a small sculpture. Agata Eliseeva shot an editorial photography series for the release, probing the collection's transparency, color and sculptural properties. Lightweight, temperature-resistant and recyclable, the glass suits water, juice, whisky, cocktails and hot drinks. TRAGA, founded by Daniel Nikolovski, reworks familiar domestic objects through small, unexpected interventions, citing Milanese design culture and the Brutalist architecture of Nikolovski's native Skopje as influences.
