Tracey Emin's 'There Is A Truth' at Galleria Lorcan O'Neill, Rome

Tracey Emin's eighth solo exhibition at Galleria Lorcan O'Neill in Rome, titled 'There Is A Truth', runs from April 30 to July 18, 2026. The show features thirteen works—twelve paintings and works on paper plus a monumental bronze sculpture—created over the past two years in her London and Margate studios. The exhibition explores art's healing power, reflecting Emin's personal rebirth after surviving cancer. The title work, 'There Is A Truth' (2025), depicts a female figure in red within a black triangle, evoking constraint and revelation. A bronze sculpture, 'You Will Not Be Alone' (2025), centers the main room, showing a bowed but resilient female figure. Other paintings like 'I Am Protected' (2025) and 'I Know How Much You Love Me' (2025) address themes of solitude, love, trauma, and protection, often featuring cats as symbols of comfort. Emin's expressive style uses nervous lines, drips, and vivid colors. The exhibition coincides with her major Tate London show 'A Second Life', on view until August 31.
