TPG Architecture Designs Major League Soccer Headquarters as an "Office as Stadium" in New York

architecture-design · 2026-09-29

Major League Soccer (MLS) has relocated its headquarters to the Penn 2 skyscraper, which boasts a two-level office designed by TPG Architecture, mirroring the essence of a soccer field. This new space launched earlier this year, aligning with both the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the league's 30th anniversary. The innovative "office as a stadium" idea was influenced by insights from MLS Commissioner Don Garber and other stakeholders. Notable features include an entrance resembling a player tunnel, programmable LED lights, a reception area showcasing jerseys and the MLS Championship Cup, and a central hub named the Midfield. TPG Architecture has also crafted headquarters for the NHL and an advertising firm. MLS was established in 1996 following the 1994 World Cup.
