Tosin Oshinowo's OA House Brings Restrained Minimalism to Ikaare Island

Located on Ikaare Island in the Lagos lagoon, OA House is a four-bedroom getaway crafted by architect Tosin Oshinowo, who is a nominee for the Best Private House 2023 at the Wallpaper* Awards. The structure's white forms mimic the sandy surroundings, merging contemporary aesthetics with local influences. Designed to optimize views of the Atlantic Ocean, the residence boasts an airy pavilion-style living area that opens to outdoor spaces, including a hot tub and seating arrangements. The architecture features understated elegance with smooth off-white walls, timber flooring, and an aqua-green pool. While the main living areas and bedrooms are situated on the ground floor for seclusion, the upper-level bedrooms come with private terraces. Oshinowo highlights that each design is uniquely influenced by the client's personality and way of life.
