Tom Kneepkens completes Forest Villa MB in Dutch woodland

In Noordwijk, South Holland, Netherlands, local architect Tom Kneepkens has finalized the Forest Villa MB, a residence that harmonizes with its wooded surroundings. This villa showcases a timber roof with a grid pattern, incorporating spaces for existing trees, along with a light concrete base and expansive glass walls. The interior layout features rooms along a central hallway, complemented by small courtyards. There is a striking contrast between cozy, darker areas and spacious living zones. The roof's robust timber beams are visible from within and extend beyond the structure. Greenery was designed by landscape architects Studio Siebers. Kneepkens emphasized that the design fosters a new relationship between architecture and nature, influenced by the sun's trajectory and pre-existing trees.
