TJAD/Zeng Qun Architecture Design Studio completes Shanghai Jiao Tong University Student Service Center

Completed in 2025, the Student Service Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was designed by TJAD/Zeng Qun Architecture Design Studio. Spanning 24,400 square meters, this facility embodies a novel campus model rooted in student-focused educational principles. Positioned at the edge of the campus, it occupies a narrow, elongated site running north to south, which was not part of the initial master plan. To the west, it adjoins a bustling urban expressway, while the east offers views of a picturesque lake surrounded by verdant vegetation. The project was directed by Zeng Qun and Wu Min, with contributions from architectural designers Li Rongrong, Xie Tianyuan, and Yang Yuhan, among others. The design team also included specialists in structural, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical design. Yong Zhang captured the project's imagery. The main challenge was to address the site's marginality and reveal its hidden potential amid urban and natural elements.
