Timeline Exhibition at Kodl Contemporary Links Kupka and Reclus

Galerie Kodl Contemporary in Prague presents 'Timeline,' an exhibition curated by Nicolas Bourriaud and Barbara Lagié. The show centers on illustrations by Czech avant-gardist František Kupka for Élisée Reclus's final book 'Man and the Earth,' exploring eco-social themes. Kupka, who participated in documenta 1 in 1955, created figurative drawings for Reclus, a 19th-century geographer and anarchist who anticipated Anthropocene debates. The exhibition juxtaposes Kupka's works with international artists including Marguerite Humeau, Katja Novitskova, Patrick Van Caeckenbergh, Charles Avery, Alex Červený, and Suzanne Treister from India, Belarus, Brazil, UK, Estonia, France, and Belgium. Notably, no works from the gallery's own program are included. The curators argue that the alliance between Reclus and Kupka remains relevant today. The exhibition runs until June 7 at Kodl Contemporary, a glass structure near the Old New Synagogue in Prague.
