Tillanzia: Alexandra Pirici and Caterina Molteni Curate a Collective Re-enchantment Ritual in Tolè, Bologna

exhibition · 2026-10-02

In late August, Tillanzia, a curated event by Alexandra Pirici and Caterina Molteni, took place at Pirici's studio-garden in Tolè, close to Bologna. The event included various performances, videos, and installations that harmonized with the garden's natural environment. Miranda Secondari's ZVI-ZVI featured an unmoving figure on a rooftop. Adrian Genea presented Bird Food, a sculpture designed for feeding birds. Ioana Vreme Moser's Arboreal Receptors N2 examined the effects of electromagnetic radiation on trees. Ross Tones contributed Chords for Tillanzia, which included concealed sonic modulations. Ay avec toi performed Straordinarie Specie comuni, inspired by Paul B. Preciado. Nicoleta Moise's Geography III was a dispersed sound installation, while Riccardo Baruzzi's sculptures ticked near a shed. Gianlorenzo Nardi's In flut flut flut involved performers interacting with plaster sculptures. The event concluded with Pirici's Light Dance, Soft Sculpture. Apparatus 22 presented Why Do Artists Feel So Scary, drawing on Jane Bennett's L'incanto della vita moderna (Timeo, 2026).
