Tiffany & Co. Unveils New Bird on a Rock Jewelry Collections

Tiffany & Co. has launched its latest jewelry collections inspired by the iconic Bird on a Rock brooch, originally designed by Jean Schlumberger in 1965. The new offerings include two lines: Wings, a fine-jewelry collection, and Feathers, a high-jewelry collection. The pieces feature birds with textured wings hand-sculpted in 18-karat gold, drawing inspiration from Schlumberger's 1950s Flames earrings, which were designed to resemble solar flares. The wings incorporate chevron details and diamonds of varying sizes. The Feathers high-jewelry line, which took nearly three years to create, mimics the plumage of a bird's collar using diamonds, platinum, and 18-karat gold. The Wings collection includes alternating wings with three feathers each in gold and platinum, available in necklace, rings, drop earrings, bracelet, and pendant formats. Schlumberger's original design was inspired by a yellow cockatoo he encountered during travels in Asia and the Caribbean, featuring white and yellow diamonds on a cabochon lapis lazuli. Tiffany has reinterpreted the design over the decades, and these new pieces continue that legacy. The collections are available starting this week at select Tiffany stores.
