Ticino's Modern Architecture: 100 Works on Show at Mendrisio's TAM
The Università della Svizzera italiana's Teatro dell'architettura Mendrisio (TAM) is showcasing an exhibition titled 'La costruzione dell'architettura in Ticino, 1939-1996. Materialità e tettonica,' focusing on the architectural developments in Canton Ticino, which will be available until 20 December 2026. Curated by Professor Franz Graf and his team, this exhibition is the culmination of twenty years of research from the Accademia di architettura dell'USI. Out of 160 examined projects, fewer than 100 are featured, with twelve notable ones, including the Cinema-Teatro Blenio (1956-1958) designed by Giampiero Mina. The display includes models, photographs by Roberto Conte, and graphic panels. Additionally, TAM is presenting 'Pino Musi. Continuum' and 'Sleipnir e il Labirinto di Porte' by Duilio Forte and his students.
