Three Concurrent Solo Shows at Galerie Rolando Anselmi, Rome

Galerie Rolando Anselmi in Rome presents three solo exhibitions running concurrently across its spaces, each examining painting from a distinct perspective. In the residency space, Alina Grasman's 'House Taken Over' features works produced during her stay in Rome, inspired by Julio Cortazar's 1946 story 'Casa Tomada'. Her oil paintings, based on Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan, depict architectural interiors and gardens with subtle human traces like a smoking cigarette or disturbed pool water. In the main gallery, Adéla Janská's 'Near Field' (with text by Nicolas Vamvouklis) presents large-scale portraits of female figures in warm reds, greens, and pastels. Her doll-like subjects, rendered in porcelain skin, engage the viewer in a power dynamic of looking, referencing Hans Bellmer and Greer Lankton. In the project room, Li Gang shows 'Stamp', featuring handmade pigments ground from clay, applied in red-orange fields. His approach critiques industrial standardization by returning to pre-modern materiality, where the artist acts as bricoleur. All exhibitions run in 2026 at Galerie Rolando Anselmi, Rome.
