Thomas Lélu's Louvre Collab: 'Mona Who?' Merchandise

French artist Thomas Lélu, known for his witty handwritten aphorisms that have amassed over 700,000 Instagram followers, has partnered with the Louvre museum to create a line of merchandise including t-shirts, caps, and tote bags. The collection, titled "Mona Who?", features phrases like "Look at me, I'm a masterpiece" and "All you need is Louvre," playing on the museum's collections and art history. Lélu, born in 1976, describes his practice as "compulsive" writing, influenced by Dada and the literary cut-up technique, which involves extracting and recontextualizing words. He has previously collaborated with the perfume house Maison Memo and published books, including "Couldn't Care Less" with Lee Shulman of The Anonymous Project. Currently, his exhibition "It Will All Make Sense Later" is on view at the Long Story Short gallery in Paris until September 26, 2026. The Louvre collaboration follows similar partnerships with agnès b., Marine Serre, and Harry Nuriev, as the museum continues to elevate collaborations to an art form.
