Thermacell LIV 2.0 Review: Incremental Upgrades to Smart Mosquito Repellent System
Thermacell has introduced the LIV 2.0, an enhanced version of its LIV Smart Mosquito Repellent System, with most components redesigned, excluding the cabling. This system features Wi-Fi-connected hubs that control pesticide-dispensing repellers, each containing 5.5% metofluthrin. The new hubs can accommodate up to 10 repellers, include two cable terminal posts, and have a revamped mounting bracket. The repellers come with a visible LED status ring and a top hatch for better vapor release. Users can schedule and control the LED through the app, with Alexa integration on the way. Testing indicated effective protection within 15 minutes, with prices starting at $1,746 for one hub and three repellers, while refill cartridges are priced at $250 for six 100-hour units. Although upgrading from LIV 1.0 may not be essential, it still effectively protects yards.
