The Ryder Presents 'Todavía', First Solo Show of Miguel Benlloch in Madrid

exhibition · 2026-09-25

From September 10 to October 31, 2026, the Ryder gallery in Madrid will showcase 'Todavía,' the inaugural solo exhibition of Miguel Benlloch (Loja, 1954 – Sevilla, 2018), curated by Rafa Barber. This exhibition presents a selection of Benlloch's works from different stages of his career, with many pieces being exhibited for the first time. Over his four-decade career, Benlloch, who was an artist, poet, and activist, tackled themes such as gender binarism and geopolitical issues. The exhibition is structured across two levels: the upper level emphasizes language and political themes, while the lower level delves into personal experiences. Benlloch was a co-founder of the Frente de Liberación Homosexual de Andalucía and Planta Baja, with his works included in collections like IVAM and Museo Reina Sofía.
