In Brunswick, Australia, The Gentle House by The Stylesmiths and Adrian Gaetano is a 300 m² residence completed in 2025. The exterior presents a dark, serene silhouette with black timber cladding, while the interior reveals a warm wooden 'box' inspired by Japanese ryokan design. The sequence of spaces incorporates light, water, vegetation, brick, wood, and stone. Principal interior designer Patricia Davila described the goal as creating a jewel of Japanese inspiration, emphasizing calm, proportion, and material honesty rather than literal clichés. The project was photographed by Kate Enno, with Husky Homes as general contractor.
