architecture-design · 2026-06-10

The Dorchester hotel in London has unveiled a newly designed Royal Suite by Pierre-Yves Rochon, representing its most extensive renovation in over three decades. Situated on the eighth floor, this expansive suite covers 4,660 sq ft and includes four interconnected rooms, providing views of Hyde Park and iconic sites like Battersea Power Station. The design, influenced by theatre designer Oliver Messel, incorporates classic British features, soft pastel colors, and elements from the 1950s. Notable aspects include a pale pink gallery corridor, a living area adorned with celadon shades, and a dining space featuring trellis-pattern wallpaper. The suite can host in-suite dining for ten, managed by culinary director Martyn Nail, with rates beginning at £30,000 per night, benefitting The Royal Parks charity.
