The Brownstone Boys Launch Studio Sessions in Brooklyn Carriage House
Barry Bordelon and Jordan Slocum, known as The Brownstone Boys, have completed over 30 renovations and published a book, building a following for their historically informed approach to Brooklyn brownstones. Their studio, converted from an 1890s carriage house in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, retains original arched windows and tin ceilings while adding work spaces, a materials library, and a coffee station. On October 24, they debut Studio Sessions, a quarterly series starting with Renovation 101, covering budgets, timelines, contractors, and restoration challenges; it will be live-streamed on YouTube and continue into 2027. Recent projects include a completed renovation on Adelphi Street awaiting photography, a partnership with TileBar, and a cookware and kitchen accessories line with il Buco Vita set for 2027. Their third Stoop Sale recently brought vintage dealers and makers to the studio. The couple, who live in Brooklyn with their dog Sailor, cite Axel Vervoordt, Robert Kime, and Renzo Mongiardino as inspirations.
