Terremosse Collective Activates Amatrice with 10 Architectural Projects a Decade After Earthquake

More than 250 architects, designers, and students from various countries including Europe, Mexico, Nicaragua, India, Armenia, Turkey, and Palestine came together for a ten-day collaboration in regions impacted by the 2016 Amatrice earthquake. The event, organized by Collettivo Terremosse, resulted in ten reconstruction proposals aimed at reimagining Amatrice's 69 hamlets as a 'house-territory.' This initiative, known as TERREMOSSE x Amatrice, was supported by EASA Italia APS within the EASA network and took place from July 2 to 12, featuring discussions, music, and festivities. Among the projects were a wooden shelter for displaced individuals, the Giardino dell'Eremo, and communal dining tables, with local 'guardians' pinpointing community needs and symbolic keys presented during the closing ceremony.
