Terrace Mountain Residence: A Cantilevered Modern Home in Texas Hill Country

Designed by A Parallel Architecture, the Terrace Mountain Residence is a 4,995-square-foot home perched on a limestone bluff in West Lake Hills, Texas, overlooking the Hill Country and Austin skyline. Completed in 2025, the residence comprises two interlocking volumes: a grounded stone-and-concrete pavilion and a cantilevered glass-and-wood box supported by slender steel columns. The design dissolves indoor-outdoor boundaries, integrating with the rugged landscape. Lead architects Eric Barth and Ryan Burke led the project, with interior design by Allison Burke Interior Design and structural engineering by Fort Structures. General contractor Arrowhead Construction executed the build. The home exemplifies sophisticated modern residential architecture.
