teamLab Brings Major Exhibition to Chicago in Fall 2026

The Japanese art collective teamLab will open a major exhibition at the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago on September 22, 2026. Titled 'teamLab: Everything Exists in Infinite Continuity,' the show runs through February 21, 2027, and includes a North American premiere. Highlights include 'Massless Suns and Dark Suns,' featuring glowing spheres that react to visitors, and 'Dissipative Figures – Human and Dissipative Figures – Murmuration,' which depicts living beings through their environmental effects. 'Order in Chaos' creates evolving patterns without central control, while 'The World of Irreversible Change' syncs with Chicago's weather and seasons. The exhibition traces teamLab's evolution from early computer-generated works to recent installations exploring perception and interconnectedness. It builds on the collective's relationship with the University of Chicago, where 'Ever Blossoming Life' has been on permanent display since 2021.
