Taymour Grahne Projects Opens 'Five Painters' Show in Dubai

exhibition · 2026-07-06

Taymour Grahne Projects, nearing its first anniversary in Dubai, presents 'Five Painters,' a group exhibition featuring five young female artists from the Gulf region: Roudhah Al Mazrouei (UAE), Dalal Al-Obaidi (Kuwait), Hayfa Algwaiz (Saudi Arabia), Latifa Alajlan (Saudi Arabia/Kuwait, based in New York), and Hawazin Alotaibi (Saudi Arabia). The show, running until July 11, 2026, spans the gallery's ground and mezzanine floors with 24 paintings exploring figuration, geometry, and landscape. Curator Sara bin Safwan notes the Gulf's constant shift, with these artists as inheritors of its dynamism. Al Mazrouei's circular works depict UAE landscapes (Al Ain, Fujairah) as memory preservation; Al-Obaidi's surreal paintings evoke childhood in Kuwait; Alajlan merges Islamic geometry with abstract gestures; Algwaiz captures intimate domestic spaces; and Alotaibi addresses kitsch culture and gender with humor. The exhibition highlights a new generation of Gulf artists gaining international attention.
