Tatiana Bilbao Estudio Unveils Rammed-Earth Installation at Art Omi's Sculpture & Architecture Park

exhibition · 2026-10-15

Tatiana Bilbao ESTUDIO will inaugurate "Borrowed Earth," a newly commissioned outdoor work, on Saturday, October 24 at 14:00 at the Sculpture & Architecture Park of Art Omi. The piece is built from locally sourced earth using rammed-earth construction, a technique rarely employed in the region. Its form is elemental: a composition of columns that read as both architectural elements and extensions of the surrounding landscape. Designed to embrace impermanence, participation, and the quiet transformation brought by time, the columns are intended to erode gradually as seasons shift and weather takes its toll, slowly merging back into the ground from which the material was drawn. Through this process, the work makes the passage of time visible and points to the fragile link between humans and nature. Rather than aiming to endure, the architecture seeks to belong — to the land, to change, and to natural cycles. The project was announced in a Spanish-language article published on October 15, 2026, with design credited to Pan Przemysław. An English-language version of the original text is available.
