Tate Modern Announces First Monet Exhibition for 2027
From 25 February to 27 June 2027, Tate Modern in London will present its inaugural exhibition focused on Claude Monet, titled Monet: Painting Time. This showcase will feature 20 of Monet's water lily paintings, including significant pieces from 1899, on loan from the Artizon Museum and Musée Marmottan Monet. Conservation insights will highlight Tate's The Seine at Port-Villez (1894), emphasizing the artist's use of light. Curator Juliet Bingham intends to foster in-depth exploration through thematic sections such as 'Modernity and the Acceleration of Time' and 'Series and Moments.' The Water Lily Pond (1899) will be lent by the National Gallery. Morgan Stanley and Anthropic are among the sponsors, although no interactive program is planned for the exhibition.
