Tamron Unveils 16-50mm f/2.8 A Zoom for APS-C Mirrorless Cameras
Tamron has introduced the 16-50mm f/2.8 A (Model B091), a fast zoom lens tailored for APS-C mirrorless cameras. This launch comes on the heels of Sigma releasing its 50-120mm f/2.8 for similar APS-C models by Sony, Canon, and Fujifilm. The Tamron lens covers a full-frame equivalent of 24-75mm on Sony, Nikon, and Fujifilm mounts, making it more affordable than the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary and the Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR, particularly for Z-mount users. It’s marketed as an all-purpose lens for various photography styles, boasting impressive image quality and autofocus features. The lens will be available in stages starting October 29, with prices ranging from $529 to $549.
