Talia Chetrit's First Spanish Exhibition 'Bunny' at Museo Lázaro Galdiano

The Museo Lázaro Galdiano and LOEWE FOUNDATION present 'Bunny', the first official exhibition of Talia Chetrit in Spain, curated by Stella Bottai within the framework of PHotoESPAÑA 2026. The show spans nearly thirty years of the artist's photography, from early images taken as a teenager to new works. It brings together about twenty photographs, including intimate prints like 'Boob Chair (Lygia Pape)' (2021) and monumental pieces such as 'Ella/Plastic Bottle' (2026). Chetrit's work explores intimate and psychological narratives, themes of family, sexuality, and identity, and the complexities of care and codependence in motherhood, as seen in 'Milk on Back' (2020) and 'Untitled (Family no. 1)'. Her sustained commitment to analog photography since the 1990s creates cohesion across diverse subjects. Born in New York in 1982, Chetrit built her first darkroom in a laundry closet at age 13. Her work has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Palais de Tokyo, LACMA, MAXXI Rome, Museum of Contemporary Art Miami, Wadsworth Atheneum, and Kölnischer Kunstverein. Her work has been reviewed in Artforum, Art in America, Frieze, The New York Times, and The New Yorker. Monographs include 'Showcaller' (MACK, 2018) and 'Joke' (MACK, 2022). The exhibition runs until August 30, 2026, at the Museo Lázaro Galdiano in Madrid.
