TAKEO to Release 'Pomme' Edition of Masae Nagao's PÉPET Paper Friends on October 14

TAKEO Co., Ltd. will release a new PÉPET edition called "Pomme" on October 14, drawing on the saturated red and green of apples and their leaves. The palm-size "paper friend" characters were originally designed by Masae Nagao and are produced by the company. Each PÉPET figure is built from more than 400 layers of colorful paper, giving the objects a wobbling, ruffling motion when they are handled. Individual characters carry names including "Dandel," "Fuji," and "Sky." The concept behind the line imagines fruit such as pears and apples given a personality, with two eyes and a stem-like nose. All images accompanying the announcement were courtesy of TAKEO Co., Ltd. and shared with permission. Updates on the release are being posted through the company's Instagram account.
