Taiwanese Designers Turn London Tea and Coffee Waste into 3D Printed Objects
The exhibition titled 'After the Last Sip' showcases the work of Taiwanese designers Chao-Chun Kung, Ching-Yu Lin, and Chen-Yang Chang, with spatial curation by Chih-Han Liu. It transforms discarded tea leaves from bubble tea shops in London and coffee grounds from local cafés into innovative design materials. These byproducts are processed with PLA, analyzing variations in composition and particle size. At Fab.Pub in East London, robotic 3D printing and parametric design turn these materials into furniture and sculptures. Kung's piece 'CHA / 茶' celebrates Taiwan's tea culture, Lin's 'Undetermined Shore' incorporates coffee-ground composites, and Chang's creations delve into parametric geometries. The exhibition is scheduled for 12th–18th September 2026, coinciding with the London Design Festival, and is presented by Innovus.Lab.
