Tabish Khan Selects Five Figurative Art Exhibitions for London's Frieze Week Autumn Season
Critic Tabish Khan, known as @LondonArtCritic, points out five figurative exhibitions in London coinciding with Frieze Week. At The Courtauld, Salman Toor's "Someone Like You" is on view until 10th January, merging personal narratives with art-historical allusions. Thaddeus Ropac showcases "Georg Baselitz: The Heroes 1965–66" until 18th December, featuring striking representations of men that reflect Germany's past. Jonathan Baldock's "For Your Keeping" at Canopy Collections, available until 20th November, offers whimsical sculptures inspired by his mother's garden memories. Morag Caister's "Watching the City" at Rhodes, running until 31st October, captures ephemeral moments in her fluid style, while Joana Galego's "Different Ways of Staying" at Soho Revue, also until 31st October, delves into tender recollections of youth in Portugal.
