Szabolcs Bozó Transforms Paris Hotel Suite into Immersive Art Installation

exhibition · 2026-07-03

Hungarian artist Szabolcs Bozó has taken over Room 607 at La Fantaisie hotel in Paris, creating an immersive art suite that guests can book for overnight stays. The project, running until 22 February 2027, is part of the hotel's ongoing artistic series that previously featured French contemporary artist Ben Arpéa. Bozó's work, rooted in Hungarian folk traditions and characterized by zoomorphic figures, covers the walls, replaces existing artworks, and extends to handmade cushions, bespoke bedspreads, large-scale soft sculptures, and hand-painted lampshades. The 42 sq m suite sleeps up to three guests, includes a walk-in closet, bathroom with bathtub and shower, and a sofa bed, overlooking the hotel's garden. La Fantaisie, designed by Martin Brudnizki, is located at 24 Rue Cadet in Paris's 9th arrondissement and features boutique rooms, a glass-roofed restaurant, garden terrace, café, rooftop bar, and spa. A booklet introduces the artist and offers works for purchase, while co-branded items including caps, stickers, playing cards, and trays are sold exclusively at the hotel. Bozó noted that the collaboration coincides with his exhibition Antidote at Semiose and brings together familiar and new materials for a tactile experience. Rates start from 1,000 EUR including breakfast.
