Synology Launches Neo+ NAS Line with Memory Compromises

other · 2026-08-26

Synology has introduced its Neo+ range of NAS devices, which includes four models: DS1825neo+, DS1525neo+, DS925neo+, and DS725neo+. These devices will first be available in Asia and the Middle East, with a European release set for October 2026. The Neo+ series aims to tackle the memory market crisis by incorporating 4 GB non-ECC DDR4 SODIMM modules, differing from the ECC memory found in DS Plus models. Bie-I Chu, the EVP of Synology's NAS group, highlighted the affordability of this line for budget-minded consumers. All models are built on the same platform as the DS Plus series, with three powered by an AMD Ryzen V1500B processor, while the DS725neo+ features a Ryzen R1600. Each model includes M.2 NVMe slots, 2.5GbE ports, and supports Btrfs and ext4 file systems. Pricing details will be revealed at launch.
