Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway Ramp Opens, Completing Cycling Link

architecture-design · 2026-06-14

ASPECT Studios has completed the Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway Ramp, a new accessible ramp replacing stairs at the northern approach. The project, finished in 2025, creates a safe, legible route for cyclists of all ages and abilities, completing a missing link in Sydney's cycling network. Designed by a team including Sacha Coles and Jason Packenham, the ramp involved collaboration with Collins and Turner for ramp architecture, Design 5 Architects for heritage, Eckersley O’Callaghan for engineering, and First Nations consultant Yerrabingin. Madwings contributed the Eel Paving Artwork. The client is Transport for NSW. Photographs by Ruth Gold.
