Swiss Architect Olin Petzold Designs 12m² Writing Cabin in Onsernone for Climate Activist

Architect Olin Petzold completed a 12-square-meter writing cabin in Onsernone, Switzerland, in 2024. The project was commissioned by a Swiss artist and climate activist who sought an isolated retreat on their forested property. Inspired by Henry David Thoreau's philosophy, the cabin serves as a space for writing and conceptualizing climate activism. Peter Tillessen photographed the structure, which falls under the categories of cabins & lodges and residential architecture. Hadir Al Koshta curated the project documentation. The design team consisted solely of Olin Petzold. The client's request specifically emphasized solitude and focus within the natural setting.
