Suzuko Yamada Architects Designs Rest Area for Osaka Expo 2025
Suzuko Yamada Architects has completed Rest Area 3 for the Osaka Expo 2025, a 104 m² facility that integrates clusters of trees with small man-made structures. The site functions as a dining space with food trucks and tables, attracting visitors seeking shade. It includes accessible restrooms, an information center, and lounges, as well as restricted-use spaces like a first-aid station, police booth, and telecommunications equipment room. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro, with lead architects Suzuko Yamada, Kokoro Suzuki, Yuta Gongyo, and Malibu Fukuda. Structural engineering was provided by TECTONICA INC., and construction by Fukushima Construction Company. Photographs were taken by Yosuke Ohtake.
