SUTD Master of Architecture thesis projects reimagine Tomonoura port town and Manila North Cemetery

Dezeen School Shows features ten thesis projects from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Master of Architecture programme, led by tutors Frederick Peter Ortner, Calvin Chua, Eva Maria Castro, Stylianos Dritsas, Sam Conrad Joyce, and Erwin Viray. The projects include a proposal to regenerate the historic Japanese port town of Tomonoura using AI-assisted design, a care infrastructure for residents of Manila North Cemetery, and an ecological masterplan for Singapore's coastline. Other projects address rural degrowth in Japan's Shinetsu region, sovereignty in the South China Sea, women's spatial exclusion in India, and adaptive reuse of a former Hansen's disease sanatorium on Ōshima Island. The programme is an accelerated three-term course emphasizing technology and research-infused design.
