Sunflower Network opens modular children's hospital in Brody, Ukraine
Charity Sunflower Network has opened a paediatric clinic in Brody, Ukraine, claimed to be the country's first new healthcare infrastructure since Russia's 2022 invasion. Built beside Brody Central City Hospital, the modular facility, named Project Horizon, was developed with CannonDesign and Pelli Clarke and Partners. It serves over 120,000 patients annually, addressing a 100% surge in patient volume from internal migration. The single-storey structure, fabricated in Poland and assembled on site, reduced construction time by 50%. It features trauma-informed design, patient rooms for families, and a playground. Sunflower Network COO Dean Ross stated Ukraine cannot wait for war's end for new healthcare. The project aims to be a scalable model for crisis response.
