SUMMARY's G – 5 Houses in Portugal Built Entirely from Prefabricated Reinforced Concrete Panels
Portuguese practice SUMMARY has completed G – 5 Houses, a housing project in Portugal whose construction relies on total prefabrication in reinforced concrete. Every building element — façades, roofs and interior partitions — is assembled from modular panels, a system the architects describe as typifying the components so that construction could be accelerated and simplified. The approach, according to the architects' own text, also serves an image-making purpose, emphasising the finished building's appearance. The project covers an area of 835 m² and falls under the housing category. Samuel Gonçalves led the project, working with a team comprising Samuel Gonçalves, Inês Rodrigues and João Meira. Engineering was handled by FTS, Technical Solutions, while Arouconstroi SA took responsibility for both prefabrication and assembly. Alexander Bogorodskiy photographed the scheme, and Susanna Moreira curated its presentation. The project was published on ArchDaily under the reference 1034091.
