Suite NY Opens Penthouse Showroom at 443 Park Avenue South with GUBI and GamFratesi
Suite NY, the Manhattan showroom specializing in furniture, lighting, and collectible design from Scandinavia and Italy, has opened a new 7,000-square-foot penthouse showroom at 443 Park Avenue South. The opening coincides with the organization's 20th anniversary. The launch presentation features GUBI furniture designed by GamFratesi, including the iconic Beetle Chair, alongside exclusive editions hand-upholstered by Brooklyn-based textile artist William Storms. The space includes a feature skylight and a rooftop terrace with views of the Empire State Building. In an interview with Surface, managing partner Nick Taricco explained that the move was prompted by the conversion of their previous location at 419 Park Ave South into residential units. After 15 years there, they had 11 months from learning of the conversion to opening the new doors, moving out in October 2025. The new showroom aims to offer a calming, welcoming environment where visitors can slow down and engage with design. The partnership with GUBI and GamFratesi stems from a 20-year relationship, and Storms' custom textiles draw inspiration from New York's colors—grays, blues, ochres, and charcoals. Taricco emphasized a philosophy of fostering human connection through design and sharing the stories behind iconic pieces, some nearly 100 years old. The showroom's programming will unfold this fall.
