Su Xiaobai's "Voice-over, Magic Mirror" Closes Orchid Pavilion Gatherings at Venice's Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel
The Orchid Pavilion Gatherings concluded with "Voice-over, Magic Mirror" at the Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel, a 15th-century venue in Venice, during the 2026 Venice Film Festival. This gathering coincided with Su Xiaobai's Alchemical Universe exhibition, organized by the Su Xiaobai Foundation and LACMA as a Collateral Event for the Venice Art Biennial. Curated by Stephen Little and designed by Kulapat Yantrasast, the exhibition showcases Su's abstract artwork. The program featured contributions from Andrew Thomas Huang, Vivian Wenli Lin, Kyoko Takenaka, Leone Contini, and Susie Ferrell. Notable moments included Contini's discussion, Huang's film The Deer of Nine Colors, and performances and poetry from attendees, reflecting the essence of the exhibition through Su's kinetic piece "300 poems."
