Studio RAP unveils 'Powerwall', a large 3D-printed ceramic artwork in the Netherlands
In Rotterdam, the design firm Studio RAP has unveiled a striking ceramic artwork known as 'Powerwall' at the Switchstation Beverwijk, a high-voltage transformer facility in the Netherlands. The installation consists of 322 distinct ceramic tiles, each crafted with a robotic clay printer and finished with a vibrant translucent turquoise glaze. Measuring 8 meters tall and 5 meters wide, its design draws inspiration from electromagnetic energy patterns. The project was commissioned by TenneT, the operator of the transformer site, while Powerhouse Company contributed to the station's architectural design. Studio RAP, founded in 2016, is known for innovative ceramic work.
