Studio Modijefsky Renovates Canal-Side Apartment on Amsterdam's Herengracht
In central Amsterdam, Netherlands, Studio Modijefsky has finalized the redesign of a 196 m² apartment along the Herengracht, completed in 2026. Photographer Maarten Willemstein captured the project, which involved reworking the entryway, guest amenities, kitchen, and pantry while enhancing access to the private spaces. The outcome presents a harmonious blend of striking materials and a tranquil, timeless atmosphere. The apartment enjoys sweeping views of the water, shielded by the lush trees that adorn the facade. The design team comprised Laura Chaves de Miranda, Ivana Stella, and Anne Frick, led by Christel Willers, with Esther Stam serving as the lead architect. Multiplt-x acted as the general contractor, with contributions from various suppliers. Nina Vuga curated the original article for ArchDaily, with an English version available online.
