Studio Font's Casa Diez Pies Adapts to Steep Mazunte Terrain

architecture-design · 2026-07-16

Studio Font has completed Casa Diez Pies, a 250 m² residence in Mazunte, Oaxaca, near Punta Cometa. The design, curated by Valentina Díaz and led by architect Raquel Font, employs a single modular unit repeated four times. Each module is set back 50 cm in plan and section, allowing the structure to conform to a rocky 45° slope located 50 meters above Rinconcito beach. Construction was handled by Efraín Salinas Ríos, with engineering contributions from KOVA (electrical), FREMER (mechanical), and F. Calleja (structural). Photographs by Albers Studio document the project, completed in 2025.
