Studio DRIFT's Shy Society Palazzo Brings Kinetic Flowers to The Venetian Resort Las Vegas
At The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, Studio DRIFT has unveiled Shy Society Palazzo, a dynamic art installation featuring two distinct components: Shylight, which consists of nine sculptures, and Meadow, comprising 18 elements, resulting in a total of 27 pieces. This installation emulates the natural process of flowers opening and closing through nyctinasty. Throughout the day, the sculptures elegantly unfold and retract, with Shylight highlighting individual forms and Meadow showcasing collective behavior. A serene sequence of movement culminates in a fully choreographed performance every hour, set to a score inspired by human rhythms. Co-founder Ralph Nauta noted the interplay between nature and technology. The installation is situated in The Palazzo Lobby, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
