Studio Ceravolo's Strathmore Courtyard House: An Art Deco Extension with a Central Garden
In 2025, Studio Ceravolo finalized the Strathmore Courtyard House, a three-story addition to an existing solid brick Art Deco residence in Strathmore, Australia. Central to the design is a courtyard garden that facilitates movement and promotes seamless connections between various living areas. This project is a joint effort between Studio Ceravolo, responsible for both architecture and interior design, and ISK Construction, the builder. Photographs capturing the project were taken by Sean Fennessy. The extension showcases a modern interpretation of residential architecture, harmonizing contemporary living requirements with the original Art Deco home's charm. The courtyard plays a crucial role, enhancing natural light and airflow while offering a tranquil outdoor retreat. Curated by Miwa Negoro, the project has been highlighted on ArchDaily.
