Studio Ceravolo's Casa Patio Strathmore: A Three-Level Art Deco Extension Centered on a Courtyard

architecture-design · 2026-08-26

Studio Ceravolo has completed Casa Patio Strathmore, a three-level extension to an existing solid brick Art Deco house in Strathmore, Australia. The project, designed in 2025, is organized around a central courtyard garden that serves as the core of the design. This courtyard defines a zone where circulation is fundamental, guiding the spatial experience and facilitating a smooth transition between different living areas. The architecture and interior design were both undertaken by Studio Ceravolo, with construction by ISK Construction. Photographs were taken by Sean Fennessy. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro. The extension articulates the existing structure with a modern intervention that respects the original Art Deco style while introducing a contemporary spatial logic centered on the patio.
