Street Artist Nathan Murdoch Gets Job Offer from Dragons' Den's Steven Bartlett

Nathan Murdoch, a street artist from Peterborough, appeared on the BBC program Dragons' Den, asking for a £60,000 investment in exchange for a 10% equity in his venture, Street Arts Hire. While no Dragons chose to invest, entrepreneur Steven Bartlett was captivated by Murdoch's artistry, offering personal business guidance and commissioning him to paint the walls of his new London office at a rate five times higher than Murdoch's usual daily fee. At 38, Murdoch is recognized for his murals in Peterborough, including tributes to Keith Flint of Prodigy and a portrait of Jude Bellingham during the 2022 World Cup. He showcased a large dragon painting in the den, which took him four hours to complete. The episode aired on BBC One on 27 August. Bartlett commented, "You make me feel like a muggle," while Gary Neville praised the artwork as "absolutely stunning" and valued it in the thousands. Currently, Murdoch earns £30,000 annually and can fulfill only about 60% of commission requests. In February, he held an exhibition called Diesel Streets, celebrating 20 years of graffiti culture. After leaving the den, Murdoch expressed that the advice he received was invaluable and described the experience as "great."
