Stjepko Mamic's Underwater 'Net' Series Gains International Acclaim

Stjepko Mamic, a Croatian artist hailing from Dubrovnik, was born on March 17, 1958. Drawing from his extensive background as a Master Mariner, he returned to his passion for painting after spending thirty years at sea. Mamic employs a variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic, pigments, glass paint, ceramic paint, and gold and silver leaf on linen canvas. His acclaimed series 'Net' showcases up to fifty layers, offering an underwater perspective. His artwork has been displayed globally, with exhibitions at the Grand Palais, Louvre, and Eiffel Tower, as well as in cities such as New York, Tokyo, Seoul, and London. His piece 'Nocturno' resides in a museum in South Korea. Mamic has been awarded the Cultural Olympiad label for the Paris 2024 Games and actively participates in environmental efforts. He has upcoming exhibitions at the Salon d'Automne in October and Art Capital in February 2027.
