Stefano Riboli's Digital Impressionism at A+B Gallery in Brescia

Stefano Riboli's solo exhibition 'Where We Droppin’, Boys?' is on view at A+B Gallery in Brescia until July 25. The artist, from Crema, returns to painting after years of digital and 3D-printed works. His small-format paintings on panel are inspired by Fortnite, a battle royale video game. Riboli transforms war scenarios into vedutist and Macchiaioli-style landscapes using screenshots and replays. The works depict post-apocalyptic environments marked by abandoned contemporary civilization, evoking an uncanny silence. The brushstrokes, described as Freedbergian, reintroduce a human, artisanal touch. Two versions of 'La casa diroccata' show the same subject at different times of day, demonstrating strong, bright colors. The exhibition runs through July 25.
